What if I don't want to put my whole name on the BILBY website?

You must enter something in both name fields. It is safe to enter your whole name. No one actually looks at your name. It is just a requirement for the database to operate correctly.
However, if you feel uncomfortable entering your whole name, you need only write your first name and one or more initials of your last name when you enter the name of the book that you love the best. Or you can choose to write your first inital and your last name or just initials in both entry fields. Something does need to be written in each field. Try to write something that is safe for you and that you will remember for the next round of voting. Remember: You do NOT have to write your whole name, but you DO have to fill in each name field.

What are the three BILBY age groups?

Older Readers - 12 years and older
Younger Readers - 9 - 11 years
Early Readers - 8 years and less


When are the BILBY winners announced?

Winners for each BILBY category: Older Readers, Younger Readers and Early Readers are announced each year in September on International Literacy Day.


Can I enter more than one book?

No! Only one entry - the book you love the best. And only a single title of a book NOT a series name!


How many times may I vote?

When is the BILBY shortlist announced?
