| Natcom is a series of projects funded
by DETYA (formerly DEETYA). The term was developed during Natcom 1 in 1997.
The first project was The National Associations Telecommunications Project
supported by a grant from the Commonwealth Department of Employment, Education, Training
and Youth Affairs. TEFA
(Technology Education Federation of Australia Ltd) was contracted to coordinate the
project. TEFA subcontracted ACCE (Australian Council for Computers in Education) to fulfil
the contract requirements. Natcom seemed a logical abbreviation of the
project title. The term stuck through Natcom
2 in 1998 and Natcom 3 in 1999. Natcom 3 is managed by ACCE. |
