The Anna Kohler Memorial Fund
In 1997, a friend and colleague, Anna Kohler, passed
away. Anna was a much loved leader in the field of TESOL throughout
Queensland and Australia, and a Life Member of QATESOL. Before
she died, Anna had the wish to set up a special fund through QATESOL.
To this end, she left some designer clothes and works of art to
be sold with the proceeds going to establish the Fund, which ultimately
may become a foundation. Most of the clothes have now been sold
as have some of the works of art. The establishment of the fund
has also been supported by the Queensland College of English, Anna's
former workplace. . It is hoped to administer the Fund for a period
of time initially to discern whether it is appropriate to take
the more formal step of setting up a foundation.
The Guidelines for the Anna Kohler Memorial Fund
have been completed and ratified. They are available here.
