OOPS: A strategy to assist students during the editing process Mnemonics are a useful means of prompting students during difficult processes. One that provides assistance for students during the editing stage of writing is referred to as ‘OOPS’ (overall sense, order, punctuation, spelling) (MS Word). Most students appear reluctant to work systematically through their first drafts but a strategy of this kind may provide the systematic support that many need to be successful in completing this process. |
