VETNETwork and the Career Education Association of Victoria are proud to jointly host the forthcoming Biennial Conference - A Reason To Learn: Vocational Learning in Australia.
The Conference brings together a range of outstanding national speakers and provides the opportunity for delegates to network with leading-edge practitioners in VET in schools, careers educators, the post compulsory education sector, policy makers and industry representatives.
While the 1998 VETNETwork National Conference held in Adelaide was deemed an outstanding success, we are determined that the 2000 event will be even more rewarding. With a program that offers challenging keynote addresses mixed with a powerful array of case-studies and workshop sessions, it will be an event not to be missed.
Since the 1998 Conference there has been major emphasis on the need for vocational learning and the importance of careers education to enhance the provision of VET in schools. Sessions will examine aspects of work education and structured workplace learning in preparing young people for their post-secondary options.
The conference will showcase innovative and enterprising models of VET coordination and a range of successful industry and education partnerships will be presented. Most sessions will be conducted by school-based practitioners and representatives from key programs and projects in Australia that are trying to minimise the barriers and enhance the relationship between education and the world of work.
The 2000 VETNETwork Conference in Melbourne will allow an opportunity for reflection, and future planning. It will also provide a forum for celebration as we continue to promote and advance vocational learning in Australia. Celebrating its 25th year, the CEAV can think of no better way to inspire, inform and enrich the debate on vocational learning.
We look forward to meeting with you both professionally and socially at the Conference.
